Allston Multimodal Transportation Project Open House scheduled for July 22

Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced that there will be an open house for the Allston Multimodal Transportation Project on July 22 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Josephine Fiorentino Community Center (123 Antwerp St). 

The open house will provide information about the project to residents and updates on specific developments, including the Cambridge Street Bridge Preservation and Lincoln Street Noise Barrier.

BPDA approves two Allston projects

During its meeting on June 16, the Boston Planning and Development Agency voted on  two projects in Allston:

• The BPDA voted to waive further review of Article 80B and approve the project on 1200 Soldiers Field Road, which aims to build a six-story apartment building with 58 units and 37 off-street vehicle parking spaces. The process began last February when Thunderdome LLC filed an intent to develop.
  
• The BPDA also voted to issue a certification of approval for Article 80E for 34-36 Pratt Street. The development, which held its public meeting last year, would replace the two residential buildings at 34-36 Pratt Street with a new six-story, multi-family building with 39 residential units and 11 parking spaces. The BPDA also voted to enter into the Community Benefits Agreement for the development, which will contribute $10,725 to the Boston Transportation Department to support the bikeshare system, plant at least five new trees among other benefits. 

Penniman Road Play Area Comments Due by July 24

Following the third community meeting on June 23, the City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department is seeking feedback on its preferred plan for the Penniman Road Play Area. Residents can see more details about the development here, and they can fill out the survey here by July 24. 

Public meeting scheduled for 185 Corey Road development

There will be a public meeting for the development on 185 Corey Road in Brighton on  July 28 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. 

On June 27, Sousa Design Architects filed a small project review application for a development at 185 Corey Road currently owned under WC – Ambojang LLC. The development in Brighton proposes to build 34 residential condos, the majority of which are two-bedroom, 26 parking spaces (23 of which will be below ground while 3 will be at grade), and bike storage room, which can accommodate up to 40 bikes. In addition to a residential component, the development will also have 2,246 square feet in ground-floor commercial space. 

Residents can submit public comments until August 11.
