Jackson Mann – Housing with Public Assets Study
Boston Centers for Youth & Families, the Public Facilities Department, the Mayor’s Office of Housing, and Boston Public Schools are studying the feasibility of adding housing with a new community center and possibly an elementary school at the Jackson Mann School site in Allston-Brighton. The study tests a range of community center sizes based on the previously completed programming and siting study, as well as a mix of affordable and market-rate housing. Mayor Wu and B.A.A. Announce Recipients of the Fastest Bostonian Awards at the 130th Boston Marathon
- Danielle Bishop, who finished the race in 3:21:28. Bishop is an Allston resident who works as an Account Specialist for New Balance.
- Delmace Mayo, a Jamaica Plain resident (Boston Green Academy Graduate/Brighton High School Track) who competed in the wheelchair division of the marathon and finished in 1:51:11. There were no women from Boston competing in the wheelchair division this year.

III. ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW
In order to expedite the review process, the commission has delegated the approval of certain work items, such as those involving ordinary maintenance and repair, restoration or replacement, or which otherwise have a minimal impact on a building’s appearance, to commission staff pending ratification at its monthly public hearing. Having been identified as meeting these eligibility criteria and all applicable guidelines, the following applications will be approved at this hearing:
APP # 26.0881 AB 4 CHISWICK ROAD: Limited Reconstruction of the existing brick and cast stone masonry parapet. Restoration of the remaining conditions not being reconstructed. Removal and replacement of limited areas of the roof edge fascia with new 16 oz copper fascia, to match the existing fascia profile.Limited replacement of the existing damaged/ cracked/ spalled cast stone masonry with new cast stone masonry with matching stone face dimensions and profiles; Patching of limited areas of damaged cast stone masonry with patching mortar. Cutting and repointing of the remaining areas of the brick masonry parapet. Cutting and repointing of selected areas of the brick chimney at the top floor and above the roof line. Cleaning and recoating of the cast stone masonry at the parapet with new elastomeric masonry coating, to match the current coating cast stone color. All replacement face brick, cast stone, and mortar is to match the current existing materials.
