Getting your Trinity Audio player ready…

Election day will be on Tuesday, November 4. On the ballot, voters will have the opportunity to make their choices for three different positions: Mayor of Boston, City Councilor-at-Large and District 9 City Councilor.

Allstonia has centralized our municipal election coverage here, along with information about how to vote.

Information about the Candidates

District 9 City Councilor

Elizabeth “Liz” Breadon (incumbent) and Pilar Ortiz are competing for the District 9 City Councilor position, which represents Allston-Brighton. As part of our election coverage, Allstonia interviewed each of the District 9 City Councilor candidates and produced video segments of their responses here

The candidates most recently spoke at a candidate forum hosted by the Allston-Brighton progressives. Read more about our coverage of the event here

Councilor-at-Large

At the polls, voters will have the opportunity to choose up to four of the eight candidates. The eight candidates are Erin Murphy, Will Onuoha, Henry Santana, Marvin Mathelier, Alexandra Valdez, Ruthzee Louijeune, Julia Mejia and Frank Baker. The four candidates with the most votes will be elected as the Boston City Councilors at Large.

To help readers decide who to vote for, we sent an Allston-Brighton specific questionnaire to each of the candidates with issues ranging from Jackson-Mann to affordable housing. You can learn more about their responses here
