Flint Cleaners Redevelopment to Host Public Meeting on March 16

A public meeting on the development of Flint Cleaners (172 Western Avenue) is located will be held on March 16 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The owners of 170-172 Western Avenue previously filed an application to redevelop the laundromat into an eight-story mixed use building. The building will have two ground-floor retail spaces and 20 units (three of which will be affordable). Flint Cleaners will continue to operate as one of the two retail spaces after construction; the other retail space will be a nail and beauty salon. The project will build 28 bike spaces and zero parking, citing its proximity to multiple bus routes. Comments will be open until March 31, 2026. 

Planning Department Hosts Enterprise Research Center and Greenway Public Meetings

On March 9, the Boston Planning Department released the draft plan for the Harvard ERC and Greenway. In an impact advisory meeting held in late February, the draft plan is meant to provide a set of frameworks to guide land use, community benefits, and development in the ERC and Greenway. There will be an impact advisory meeting held virtually on March 23 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. as well as an in-person public meeting held on March 26 at the Josephine Fiorentino Community Center at Charlesview (123 Antwerp Street). Additionally, the Planning Department will hold office hours on March 20 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. and March 30 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. Public comment can be submitted here until April 8, 2026. 

201-207 Brighton Avenue Builds a Six-Story Mixed Use Building

On February 27, the owners of 201 Brighton Avenue filed a project application to redevelop the current site, which is currently a one-story building for Action Bearing Co. (an active business), to a six-story mixed residential and retail building. The project proposes to build 145 residential rental units with 20% of those units (or 30 units) designated as affordable, along with 176 residential biking spaces and 31 publicly accessible bike spaces. There will be no on-site vehicle parking. A virtual meeting will be held on March 31 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. to discuss the project. Public comment is available until April 6, 2026.

Public Comment for 676 Washington Street Development

The development at 676 Washington Street, which previously held Our Lady of the Presentation Church, seeks to redevelop the former church into a multi-family residential unit. The developers will build a four-story addition at the rear of the church. The development will have 33 two-bedroom units and 33 spaces of below-grade parking while maintaining the faรงade of the previous church. Comments will be open until March 6, 2026.

Public Comment for 263 North Harvard Avenue Development

D2Development filed a small project application to build a four-story residential building on a lot at 263 North Harvard Avenue located at the corner of North Harvard Avenue and Easton Street. The development seeks to build 43 residential units (including 7 affordable units) composed of 14 studio, 20 one-bedroom, and 9 two-bedroom units. The developers propose to build 14 parking spaces for vehicles and 44 residential bike parking spaces. Public comment will be open until March 9, 2026.

Public Comment for James H. Roberts Park

The City is seeking community feedback on proposed improvement concepts currently under consideration for James H. Roberts Park (112 Hooker St) in Lower Allston. Residents are encouraged to review the concepts and complete the survey to share which options they prefer and what features matter most to them. Feedback collected will help guide the direction of the project and inform future planning decisions.

Public comment will be accepted through the community survey, and residents are encouraged to participate and share the survey with others in the community. โ–
