“Right In Your Backyard”

“Growing up here, it’s just something that always happens every year. But then when you’re hearing where people have traveled from, and seeing how global and how big of a deal it is, it’s pretty cool to realize that it’s right in your backyard, and you can just walk down here and see it,” describes Allston-Brighton resident Carrie Reynolds.

“There’s just a lot of events in the neighborhood that come in, that bring people into Allston-Brighton. We need to maybe start considering Allston-Brighton as a destination neighborhood due to all of these events — if it be the Head of the Charles, if it’s concerts at Roadrunner, if it’s BC family weekend, right?” says Ricky Meinke, who lives in Brighton.

Reynolds says, “This is a perfect thing to do as a family on a weekend. It’s so great that we can just walk outside of our doorstep and be here. I love just having the offerings of, ‘Let’s walk around. There’s options to eat, there’s options to sit and watch. There’s options to just keep walking.’ And I feel like there’s something for everyone.”

“So, it’s like my perfect Sunday.”
