Ringer Park will see renovations over the next months, as it has closed its bidding period.

Bids by construction contractors to renovate the park closed on August 28. “The construction contract was awarded to Omasta Landscaping,” says Nelle Ward, project manager at Boston Parks and Recreation Department (BPRD).

Omasta Landscaping is based in Hadley, Massachusetts. “We specialize in irrigation, patios, walls, walkways, planting, seeding, excavation, parks, playgrounds, splash pads and more!” states the contractor’s Facebook. It has worked on several playground projects, including in Fitchburg, Mass. and Northampton, Mass.

Ringer Park completed its design stage on August 11, where plans for the design of the park, including increased accessibility and safety, were finalized.

Ward stated in an interview on August 12 that “construction will begin within the next two months,” if bid numbers were aligned with the project, and that construction would take about a year.
